What does Wellbeing mean to you?

"How are you?"
Have you asked yourself that question lately and have you answered truthfully to that question when asked?
I feel that we are not always truthful when asked this question and we give the standard reply “I’m not bad”, “I’m fine”, “All is well”, “Fine thanks”, then we reciprocate with the same question: “How are you?”.
Do we admit that we are absolutely exhausted, over tired and overwhelmed at times with work and family life. Life just takes over and we continue to push our limits mentally and physically but when do we recognise that we need to stop and take time out and focus on ourselves, to re-centre and be mindful so that we can be even better at what we do? For most of us it is hardly ever and this is when we could face a downward spiral
I have realised that I have been so busy focusing on building my business that I have neglected my physical and mental wellbeing which is quite ironic given that the Origins of Beauty strap line is “Guilt Free Beauty and Wellbeing”!
I was asked an interesting question recently:
“Are you running your business or is your business running you?”
A very profound question from the wonderful @leighahowes . Checkout her IG account sometime. She is so inspirational.
I suppose we could apply this question to life in general. “Are you running your life or is it running you?”
This is where Wellbeing comes into play. “What does Wellbeing mean to you?”
For me Wellbeing is looking after my health, eating the right foods, exercising, going for walk, meeting up with a friend, stepping way from my computer when I’ve had enough, having a digital detox and doing a little something special for myself once in a while…..that all important Me Time!
How often do we put things off because we are too busy to make time for ourselves? I admit that I have been guilty of that and I’m sure that many of you are too.
So I have taken positive action and have re-commenced Yoga. I had my first class last week and I felt the difference almost immediately. I realised how much I had missed it and what an important release it was for me. I was able to relax my mind and as a result of this I was able to focus and accomplish a lot more. I promise myself to keep up with my Yoga classes and to stop for a bit during the day to be mindful and just appreciate life and nature like I used to, to listen to the birds, the gentle howling of the wind and the rustling of leaves.
What changes would you make today? What does Wellbeing mean to you?
